Nepal’s coronavirus cases crossed the 100,000 mark on Friday, with 600 total deaths, a situation public health experts had long warned about, while the government appears clueless about its next step to contain the spread.

Doctors say Nepal has yet to see the second wave of infections. But it’s not too far away, according to them, as it might take just about two months or so for the infection rate to reach its peak, especially in Kathmandu Valley.

Nepal’s economy is projected to grow by only 0.6 percent in 2021, inching up from an estimated 0.2 percent in 2020 as lockdowns caused by COVID-19 disrupt economic activity, especially tourism, says the World Bank’s latest South Asia Economic Focus.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Morang, Sunsari, Lalitpur, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhaktapur, and Rupandehi have the most cases of Covid-19.

“The economic consequences of the pandemic and impact on livelihoods across Nepal is expected to be the most acute for informal workers or those without social security or assistance, who are more at risk of falling into extreme poverty,” stated Faris Hadad-Zervos, World Bank Country Director for Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Addressing the problem, Adventure Pilgrims Trekking has started a Fundraiser at Go Fund Me with a help from a  good friend, Joe Boyer. Our Team has a goal of helping   28+ Tourism   Workers and  their   families who have been suffering the most in this   pandemic. It's been 7 months already that Nepalese Tourism Workers are   without any jobs.

Nepal is still   under curfew. Some are having 1 meal per day and some of them  have committed  suicide too. We want to support them with the help  of your  support.   The funds will be properly rationed and divided  among these families or food  and Medicine.

Out of the funds that have been generated, We have conducted some programs to use the funds. These include  feeding the tourism   workers  and distributing   essential medicines.

The condition is worsening everyday .Donations are welcome however big or small. We invite you to participate in this humanitarian  service. You  can donate a day's   worth of breakfast, lunch or dinner or more if you can .Your help will be reflected in the hearts of the  people who are really in  need.

We set up a meeting with available Trekking guides ,porters and families yesterday. Dashain festival has started in Nepal and we are hoping the funds will help them go through the festival with food on their table. we have distributed the funds that were collected on Go Fund Me with the help of Mr Joe Boyer to the available Tourism workers yesterday . They are very happy to receive the funds and have blessed all the donors.

Here are some glimpses of what we've done so far. Health Materials like gloves, Masks, PPE, etc were handed over to Darbung Health Post and Fujel Health Post. School Health Coordinator of Bhairab Ashram School and Chairperson of the local level government in Gandaki Rural Municipality were also handed over those health-related materials. These materials are to be used and distributed in the area. We cordinated with other teams and have conitinued to provide meals to the needy. We need more support from all around the world to make lives of these people a little better.

As the Government of Nepal has done absolutely nothing about the condition, protests were also being organised in the different parts of the country where we also participated. .

We Thank You for taking your time and hope you'll share this fundraiser to your friends and family and inspire them to donate as well.
We hope all of this will be over soon. For Now , Please Stay healthy and safe.
